7 Day Pride of Namibia

This safari is designed to offer a quick “snapshot” of Namibia’s world renowned Etosha National Park, the coastal area of Swakopmund and the Namib Naukluft Park. You’ll visit the world’s highest sand dunes, and step foot in the world’s oldest desert at Sesriem & Sossusvlei. There is no single supplement charge and the price is virtually fully inclusive of everything you will need whilst travelling for three days. The style is limited participation, assisted camping. Collection time is between 08:00 & 08:30 from anywhere within the Windhoek city limits. Small group tour that departs on Mondays.

Day 1 ~ Windhoek

You are collected from the airport on arrival and transferred to Na’ankuse Lodge where you will stay overnight in beautiful thatch bungalows with en-suite facilities. This afternoon you will have the opportunity to join the afternoon feeding tour of the large predators that are unable to be re-located back into the wild, learn more about these fascinating animals and photographic opportunities are excellent. You can then enjoy sundowner drinks before returning to the lodge for dinner. Your stay here supports the project and helps with the costs of keeping these majestic animals alive. Overnight twin share bungalows with en-suite facilities.

After lunch, we visit the mighty Etosha Pan (the largest salt pan in Namibia) before game driving across the park in our quest to find the big 4 as well as all the plains game.

We arrive at Okaukuejo late afternoon and leave the park prior to sunset, visiting one last waterhole to worship another African sunset.

We lunch in the shadow of the Brandberg Mountain and have a short visit with a Himba group who have moved into this area to sell their jewellery and other items (dependent on Himba tribespeople).

After lunch we head directly through the Namib Desert and stop at the latest shipwreck on the Skeleton Coast before arriving late afternoon in Swakopmund. We recommend exploring this seaside town on foot this afternoon and perhaps visiting the jetty for sundowners overlooking the cold Atlantic Ocean. Your guide will be happy to recommend a good restaurant for your evening meal (own expense).

We explore this unique area on foot before heading into Dead Vlei with its large expanse of bleached cracked clay and skeletal camel thorn trees, contrasting with a backdrop of huge dunes with their ever-changing colours.

We can either walk or take the 4×4 shuttle back to our vehicle. As we drive back to our accommodation we will stop at the famous Dune 45 and climb this dune if we wish or just wander around the base.

We return to Sesriem and visit the nearby Sesriem Canyon, one of the few permanent water sources before arriving back at our lodge late afternoon to watch the sunset over this spectacular desert. Overnight in twin share rooms/ permanent tents with en-suite bathrooms. Dinner prepared by your guide.
