6 Day ULTIMATE Budget Botswana

6 Day action packed safari visiting some of Botswana’s most famous National Parks! Making use of tented accommodation this adventure aims to suit the tightest budget. Numerous activities are included daily as well as a local flight between the North and the Okavango Delta.

This tour departs twice a week on a Sunday and a Tuesday from Kasane and can be run in reverse.

Day 1 ~ Livingstone – Kasane Botswana

Border of Chobe National Park

This morning you will be collected from Kasane airport and transferred to Kwalape Safari Lodge.

In the late afternoon, a spectacular boat cruise in the Chobe National park is included.

The African sunset over the might Chobe River is a sight not to be forgotten and the vast numbers of animals are truly amazing.

ACCOMMODATION: Kwalape Safari Lodge in tented accommodation with communal bathrooms.

MEALS: Where meals are not included there are local options or restaurant at the lodge.

Day 2 ~ Kasane Botswana

Border of Chobe National Park

Early morning game drive into Chobe National Park.

Rest of the day free to relax by the pool, explore the area or enjoy optional activities.

ACCOMMODATION: Kwalape Safari Lodge

MEALS:

Day 3 ~ Maun

Morning transfer to Kasane airport for an onward flight to Maun. (this flight is included)

You will be collected from airport and transferred to your lodge.

Optional activities available: sunset boat cruises, horse ride and flight over the Delta.

ACCOMMODATION: Twin en-suite tents

MEALS: Where meals are not included there are local options or restaurant at the lodge.

Day 4 ~ Maun

Take a 1 and a half to 2 hour safari 4×4 drive from “The Old Bridge” in Maun to a community-run mokoro station in the eastern delta. We depart around 8am and arrive at the Mokoro station between 9:30 and 10am.

Here we meet your mokoro guides/polers and load all luggage and equipment into the mekoro.

You then spend 2 to 3 hours on a mokoro gliding along the waterways to your campsite.

Once in your riverside campsite lunch is served followed by an hour or two relaxation . Your guide will then take you for a 2 to 3 hour late afternoon game walk.

On arrival back in camp, you may request water to be warmed for you to have a shower (bucket shower hoisted into a tree, hanging over a canvass enclosure) and enjoy your campfire dinner.

Spend the evening around the campfire enjoying the interaction with your guides and sharing stories.

Day 5 ~ Maun

Wake up early for coffee/tea cereal and rusks.

Depart on a 4 hour early morning mokoro and game walk.

Return at around 10am for a hearty brunch.

Relax in camp, or ask your guides to take you for a swim.

Return to mokoro station for motorboat pick up at 3pm

Return back to “The Bridge” at 5pm

Day 6 ~ Maun – Johannesburg

Transfer to the airport. Fly from Maun to Johannesburg.
