08 Day Cape Town & Garden Route

You’ll see the range of stunning Cape landscapes on this 8 day trip. From the city lights of Cape Town to the craggy Knysna cliffs and undulating hills of the Overberg, you will be astounded by the pristine nature along this coast.

Day 1 ~ Cape Town

On arrival at Cape Town international your private guide will meet you and transfer you to your Cape Town accommodation.
Depending on your arrival time and if the weather is good optional activities available are Table mountain, Robben Island or simply explore the Waterfront and city.

Day 2 ~ Cape Town

This morning we enjoy a city tour before visiting a few of the Cape’s oldest and most revered wine estates and return to the city around the beautiful beaches of Camps Bay and Boulders Beach.

Day 3 ~ Franschhoek

Scenic drive onto Franschhoek through the historic town of Stellenbosch. Wine tasting at some of South Africa most incredible estates that are also home to famous restaurants.

Enjoy dinner and lunch at awarding winning restaurants for your own account.

Day 4 ~ Franschhoek

Todays offers wine tasting and dinning in Franschhoek. It will be up to you how many estates you would like to include and your guide will offer great suggestions.

Franschhoek is a scenic town with beautiful buildings, delis and art galleries.

Day 5 ~ Oudtshoorn

Today you will be travelling along South Africa longest wine route. Stopping at some of the country’s most famous wine estates.

Driving inland this morning your journey takes you north through rolling wheat fields to the Langeberg Mountains and on to the pristine semi-desert environment of the Little Karoo. Shortly after Barrydale on Route 62, we can stop at Warmwaterberg Spa for lunch and a relaxing swim in 43-degree natural hot springs. Optional

In the afternoon we drive through Ladismith and Carlitzdorp to the capital of the Little Karoo, Oudtshoorn. Known as the ostrich capital of the world, Oudtshoorn is situated in a beautiful valley between the Outeniqua and Swartberg Mountains.

Day 6 ~ Knysna

Scenic drive along the Garden route stopping at Knysna Elephant Centre for lunch. In the afternoon explore the beautiful town. 

In the evening board an old-fashioned steam cruiser for a sunset buffet dinner cruise to the Knysna heads.

Day 7 ~ Hermanus

This morning head onto Hermanus the beautiful coastal town that boasts the best land-based whale watching in the world from July – October.

Hermanus offers wonderful cliff walks, art galleries, award-winning restaurants, and wine estates.

Some of South Africa’s top international awarded estates are in this area and a wine tasting drive up the Hemel en Aarad (Heaven on Earth valley) is included.

Day 8 ~ Cape Town

It is only an 90-minute drive from Hermanus to Cape Town international airport along the most scenic coastal route. Depending on your flight times you may have a free morning to relax and enjoy your last day.
